I have been a full-time tutor since 2011, getting my start in 2002 just after I topped NYJC in GP, but properly starting my teaching career in 2009 (teaching a group of adult learners English Literature for the A-levels).
For younger students, I tend to take an approach that focuses on motivating them to immerse themselves in the English language. For older and more motivated students, I try to connect the subject at hand to real-life situations, to make studying not only a theoretical exercise, but also a practical exercise that will be useful later on in life.

Note to teachers: if you use my material in your class, I’d love to hear from you. How did you use it, how did your students react to it, and all of that. Don’t worry about copyright and things like that, as long as you don’t pass it off as your own work.
Note to publishers: if you steal my material, I will get all lawyer-y on you.
